Job Summary
-The Masters Level Psychiatric Clinician is a Masters prepared
Social Worker (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), or
Professional Counselor (M.S. Counseling). - - - The Psychiatric
Clinician is responsible for the assessment, treatment planning and
delivery of outpatient behavioral health therapy services under the
clinical direction of the Department of Psychiatry Medical Director
as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Job Responsibilities
Conducts comprehensive admission assessments with patients that
include the collection of psychiatric, family, medical, substance
abuse, development, social, work, and school history through face
to face clinical interviews of individuals, families, or guardians.
- The comprehensive assessment incorporates results of clinical
assessment tools and prior psychiatric/medical records.
Preliminary clinical multi-axial diagnostic impressions utilizing
the Diagnostic Statistical Manual for Psychiatric Disorders/ICD at
time of each comprehensive assessment and treatment plan.
Verbal case presentations of comprehensive assessments in a
multi-disciplinary treatment team
Engagement of individuals or families in the development of
individualized written person centered treatment plans at admission
and at required intervals during patients' course of treatment.
Provision of individual, family, and group therapy utilizing
established clinical best practices for each modality.
Conduct suicide, homicide, and mental status assessments for
patients presenting with high risk behaviors and symptoms.
Dictated/written documentation of comprehensive assessments,
treatment plans, progress notes, and case management collateral
contacts that meet established Joint Commission, state regulatory
and corporate compliance criteria.
Acquire and maintain managed care insurance knowledge needed for
patients to access services. - Complete all assigned tasks related
to insurance authorizations for reimbursement of patient care.
Coordination of care with hospital providers, physicians, state
agencies, courts, and local non-profits including participation in
planning meetings when requested.
-Complete all required hospital and department educational
requirements. - Complete all state requirements for licensing as a
mental health professional.
-Complete all assigned tasks related to quality assurance data
collection as required by the department, grant sources, state
agencies, and insurance bodies.
-Maintain productivity requirements established by the department
including scheduled time and face to face contact with
patients.
-Attend and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team
meetings, staff development meetings, individual supervision and
mandatory department/hospital meetings
-Provide court testimony when subpoenaed related to provision of
clinical care to patients.
-Follow all established department and hospital policies and
procedures. -
-Provide clinical support to all Department of Psychiatry programs
as assigned. - Perform all other duties as assigned.
