Introduction to the JobASML US, including its affiliates and

lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing
complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated
circuits or microchips. The mission of the Mechanical Development
department is to design and develop the complex mechanics for these
machines, which are some of the highest precision products ever
produced in the world. This position is based on-site in Wilton,
CT, which has both R&D and manufacturing operations. We design
and produce multiple sub-system modules that are shipped to our
headquarters in Veldhoven, The Netherlands where they are
integrated into the full lithography machine.Role and
ResponsibilitiesAs a Principal Mechanical Analysis Engineer, you
willBe responsible for developing portions of the lithography
system and/or associated toolingWork on sub-systems involving
robotics, mechatronics, precision mechanics, and/or
optomechanicsUnderstand the functional requirements and deriving
specifications for precision machine design at ASMLCollaborate with
system architects in a multidiscipline project team to develop
concepts, perform engineering analysis, build and test prototypes,
generate detailed CAD designs, create engineering drawings, partner
with suppliers and support system integration and testingSome
travel (up to 10%) within the US and internationally can be
expectedEducation and ExperienceTo help us tackle the technical
challenges we face, you will need experience working on high-tech
products and with complex processes.As Principal Mechanical
Analysis Engineer, you will need:Bachelors Degree in Mechanical
Engineering or other engineering, math or science degree and 10+
years of experience with complex or precision mechanical
designORMasters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other
engineering, math or science degree and 7+ years of experience with
complex or precision mechanical designORPhD in Mechanical
Engineering or other engineering, math or science degreeStrong
background in mechanical design and engineering, including taking
responsibility of the full art to part development cycleA
background in mechanical design of mechatronics, precision design,
or complex optical systems is desirableGood complex mechanical
system intuitionMechanical design exposure to kinematics, dynamics,
material properties and behavior and structural analysisExperience
with 3D solid modelling for design conceptualization and
realizationBasic experience with mechanical analytical techniques,
including first principle engineering equations and Finite Element
Analysis (e.g. stress, strain, deformation, modal response,
etc.)Demonstrated ability to derive conclusions from analysis and
make practical recommendationsStrong technical writing,
communication and presentations skillsSkillsWorking at the cutting
