Purpose of Your Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Job Position
The primary purpose of your position as a Licensed Practical Nurse,
LPN in the Nursing Home environment is to provide direct nursing
care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing
activities performed by CNAs and other nursing personnel. To
monitor the performance of CNAs, nursing and non-licensed
personnel, Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN provide education and
counseling, perform disciplinary action as necessary, and complete
performance evaluations. A Great Home for an LPN, Licensed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurse,
LPN include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assesses patients by physical examination, including pertinent
diagnostic testing to determine health status.
- Administers medications and treatments.
- Participates in the care planning process.
- Supervises LPNs and certified nursing assistants.
- Communicates with physicians regarding changes in resident's
conditions, diagnostic test results, etc.
- Documents assessments and care in compliance with standards of
care and company policy.
- Educates patients and their families on health-related
issues.
- Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company
policy and state and/or federal regulations.
Requirements of Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN
Must possess current Connecticut Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN
license
