The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive neurological care to patients of all ages, diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological conditions. As a Neurologist at this facility, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with neurological disorders such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and stroke. Responsibilities include conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, including EEGs, EMGs, and neuroimaging studies, and developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. You will provide both inpatient and outpatient care, including consultations and follow-up visits, and collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Participation in on-call rotations and providing emergency neurological care as needed are also essential aspects of the role. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about neurological conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures, and stay current with advancements in neurology through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications for this position include a medical degree from an accredited medical school, board certification or eligibility in Neurology, and a valid medical license to practice in the state of Maine. Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care are essential.
