Job Description:
Analyze and devise systems to manage industrial and all
mine-to-market processes and functions for base and precious metal
mines and smelters. Review base and precious metal mines and
smelters around the world to determine ability to produce, process
and/or treat base and precious metal ores and concentrates within a
commercial framework. Estimate production costs at mine sites,
flotation plants, storage facilities and smelting and refining
plants. Apply knowledge of industrial, mining, and smelting and
refining, including an advanced understanding of mineral
concentrate and logistics markets to design and implement blending
models for base and precious metals ores and concentrates.
Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel,
materials, and utilities. Lead commercial and logistics strategy.
Assist in maintaining a database of various mines, and concentrate
production quantity and qualities, as well as various smelting and
refining technologies used. Arrange and submit formal, written
detailed commercial, and logistical analyses to meet domestic and
international regulatory requirements. Provide advice on
commercial, and logistical analysis for mining companies,
investors, engineering firms, and others. Telecommuting permitted
up to 10%. Domestic and international travel required up to 50% to
visit mining, smelting, refining, and warehouse sites and to
monitor current and development projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial
Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 2 years of mining and smelting industry experience, including at
least 2 years of experience in each of the following:
1. Working on an international team to evaluate global base and
precious metal mines to determine their ability to produce specific
metal concentrates from within a commercial framework.
2. Applying knowledge of logistics, environmental, and regulatory
requirements for mining and smelting markets with a focus on the
Americas region, including Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru,
Guatemala, Honduras, and Argentina.
3. Client development and relationship management with Miners,
Smelters, Refiners, and Financing Institutions on an international
level.
4. Estimating production costs for mine sites, flotation plants,
smelting and refining plants, and storage facilities.
5. Recommending strategic and operational improvements for
industrial production processes in order to bring mines to market,
including personnel, materials, and utilities.
6. Preparing and delivering presentations on production,
commercial, industrial, and logistical analyses to meet domestic
and international regulatory requirements.
7. Developing blending models for base and precious metal ores and
concentrates to optimize profitability and minimize logistics
costs.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: 40 hours/week. Wilton, CT. Telecommuting
permitted up to 10%. Domestic and international travel required up
to 50%.
