Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Psychiatric Adult Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 3x 12hr shifts - Days Guaranteed Hours: 36 Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius Job Description: - The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. - Work alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide day-to-day care of children and adolescents, ages 6-18, on an inpatient adolescent behavioral unit. - The primary diagnoses that are treated include major depression and ADD/ADHD. - Responsible for medication administration, education, and daily documentation of patient care. - Manage and monitor behaviors throughout the unit. - Participate in and lead education groups. - Strong communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers. - Ability to handle stressful situations and manage stress appropriately. - Set strong professional boundaries. - Be a dedicated team player. - Self-directed and able to stay busy during downtime. - Previous experience of 1-3 years working with adults is preferred. - Must be willing to float to chemical dependency/detox. - CPI training is required.
